I was looking through my Flickr account, and found this from three years ago:

A mere pup of 48 in that shot. I think I like myself grayer and wrinklier, oddly enough. I'm sure that at some point, enough will be enough, but I'm ready for a few more wrinkles before I'm done. :) ( Here's a wrinklier/grayer shot for reference. haha ) |

| Five Notes While Waiting for Lunch |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|11:46 am] |
So, hungry and headachy and waiting for lunch. Instead of grumping, am trying to be positive. Holiday with the biofam went rather well (!) and I was pleased with that-my younger sister knitted everyone gifts including a gorgeous capelet for me. Da-yum. It’s giving me inspiration to keep working for sure! Plus, lovely capelet to wear (it’s black with white sparkle trim). I know I need to respond and add friends; I haven’t forgotten, it just takes a bit since I can only email post from work. I miss the conversing! Also, there is a new yarn store right by me—The Yarn Spot. Would anyone like to journey out to Wheaton and check it out with me after holiday time? I am currently working on a hat but can always be tempted by something so pretty (alpaca is my new best friend; I’m also trying to work on some Noro armwarmers, but knitting in the round is giving me issues—however, I will keep trying.) It looks like NYE is going to be quiet-can’t find any parties, get togethers or activites. Ah well.
So, how goes your Monday? |

| A Life In Pictures - December 2009 |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|12:18 pm] |
I always do this as we head towards the end of the year, and as always there have been more than a few new people reading this since the last time in December 2008.
This whole thing started in 2004 when there was a meme going around about pictures when you were younger. I did it... and then have continued to update it every year or so for more recent pics...
(As always, if you've seen these posts before, then yes, you've seen most of these photos before, although I've removed a couple of shots where two were taken very close together.)
( So, here they are, bringing the photos up to date, as of the end of 2009. ) |

A first-hand portrayal of the events on the plane to Detroit that's all over the news:
Over Detroit Skies
like the title doesn't stink of evocative ghost-written memoirs enough, you have to read it to really appreciate the level to which the media wants to sell us a narrative, rather than a news piece.
... which people are, of course, swallowing hook, line and sinker.
Can't wait for the movie! |

not sure what is up w/ lj today or the mix of lj & my video posting skillzzz that is prob more like it. i made this long post this morning w/ this video but for some reason it only posted the 1st couple of paragraphs. lame so here we go again... below is my solo belly dance from i guess a week ago/2 weekends ago. i also danced w/ my class this night playing zills. i might upload that video. i totally messed up a couple of times! guess i was very unprepared for the chaos. as in no order as we got onstage. it was a free for all. get onstage & get into place, even though we had no real assigned places. so i somehow got all disorientated from being squished into the center back row, for some reason i only know the dance in my normal position in class. not to mention in class we have to dance across the room & back & forth fast. onstage there were more people in this dance, the other class with ours. we were all so squished, it felt very claustrophobic for sure plus i was being squished into the back wall. best part was, the turkish troup right before us had gorgeous fringe costumes on. well, someone lost a bunch of beads. and i mean a bunch! so it was more like a circus walking or dancing on glass while playing zills and remembering to smile. hahaha as soon as i got onto stage i had sharp glass beads stuck to the bottom of my feet & my head went blank. all i could think about was, how can i get these out of my feet while dancing. =/ the day after the solstice hafla i was beat. so hung over from dinner where our bartender had a heavy hand.... i wanted to call into work sick. but i do not have the job i can really do that. so i went to work on my drunken deathbed, somehow i managed to survive... i think i managed because i was going to see amazing dancers perform. met my friends at Greek Cusina & saw Aziza, Blue Lotus Dance Company Bollywood style belly dance troupe that are AWESOME! Belly Dance Soul Fireand Rachel Brice who was so amazing live!!!!!! also it was cool because she sat at the table next to ours, so i got to keep looking at her fucking amazing outfit hahaha this past weekend was the AntiHoliday Party we ( Power Circus) played show was fun for sure, playing live is always hard for some reaon onstage the sound is always off & you can never feel like you are playing the right things. so one can not get into the groove in a way. i hear our set was really really good. couple of people cried! yeah, insane i know. they said the music was intense, i like that. :) i did look up a couple of times & saw the crowd totally dancing, now that was fun! alright enough for now. i really wish my post from this morning worked, i hate trying to remember all the fun things i must have said. hahaha yeah right ok enjoy the video. if it works.... if not here's the link. |
